06-11 discussion - Relationship with our kids

A recap of our exchanges - we should have the following relationship with our children:

Love in the form of

communication,
friendship,
understanding
honesty
spending times

discipline through

very clear boundaries setting
Structures setting
care
guidance
privileges lost
yelling
order and control
consequences
affirmation
teaching and training
healthy time out and warnings

Then we had a good exchanges about what constitute positive discipline that actually work for long term or lifetime results and the negative discipline that we ought to try to avoid, or at least minimize their use or occurrence as they might produce instant result and no long lasting effects, thus ultimately, they sub-convent our parenting effort.
In doing this posting now, I've just realize that the list of discipline seems almost twice as long the love list. This brings me to ask: Are we more obsessed with disciplining than loving?
Also, as parents, what do we really want to raise:
just law-abiding citizens? Vs. moral citizens?
These are the questions for our next session. Until then, all and any of your opinions are always welcomed and valued.
